There is no need what so ever to break the bank just so you can keep up with all the top tips that health and fitness experts keep informing us about (which is about a gazzilion times already!). You don't have to own the latest fitness machines and spend a fortune on worthless so-called 'health and beauty' products that only end up causing more problems than what you started with.
We are constantly being showen images of celebrities with the 'perfect' bodies that all other NORMAL HUMAN BEINGS would die for to achieve similar results and in this proccess many of us end up throwing money (and caution) to the wind plus time and energy with disappointing results in our quest to look like our favourite stars.
Food companies all over the world play mind games with us by claiming to produce so-called 'healthy' 'lower-fat' 'fat-free' 'sugar-free' and (stupidly) 'skinny-food'! This is just to make us think that we are eating the right way just because a chocolate bar is claimed to be 'sugar-free' (we all know chocolate can never be exactly 'sugar-free') or that 'diet' fizzy drinks are good for losing weight! There are even places that sell 'Skinny water' (they think we are so stupid that we have gasoline where our brains should be that they fool us to believe there is such thing as 'fat-free water'-please give us a break!) EVEN A CHILD KNOWS WATER HAS NO FAT/CALORIES/SUGAR IN IT WHAT SO EVER.
Time and time again all we see on television are celebrities who have either had cosmetic/plastic surgery on every part of their bodies (except their brains where they need the most!) or trying out the most ridiculose extreme diet plans NEVER known to man! I mean who in their mind (except celebs) can live on rabbit food and caffeine shots all day long and claim to be as fit as a fiddle, I ask you?
Everyone knows it's a lie because scientists and medics have been telling us a body that is lacking in vital nutrients and undernourished will without a doubt suffer dramatically and could lead to a fatality.
So we must not learn from these so-called 'role model' celebs but instead look towards the logical evidence provided for us that is easy to understand and will lead you to a better health and well-being and without costing you much.
Just making small simple changes to our daily routines will bring about much needed improvment to our health and these include:
increasing the amount of water we drink (6-8 glasses),
switching from white bread/rice/pasta to the wholemeal/wholegrain variety (YES CARBS ARE GOOD FOR YOU!)
increasing the amount of fruit and vegetables in our diet
and incorporating some physical activity into your routine
It's quite simple really and you don't have to spend a fortune on expensive branded products beacause supermarkets' own-branded products make no difference to the taste/quality of the product.
Starting the day with a good bowel of porridge and handfull of dried fruit such as raisins or cranberries is a perfect way to start the day and the dried fruit will count towards your 5-a-day portions.
A good lunch could be a grilled chicken breast with a medium sized jacket potato or sweet potato plus some steamed vegetables such as broccoli which will also count to towards your 5-a-day portions and provide you with protein and with fibre to keep your digestive system in top form.
Dinner could be a lovely prawn stir-fry which will provide with protein and healthy essential fatty acids to give you good skin and repair your brain.
And if you feel hungry in between don't be afraid to eat something to keep you going such as a handful of unsalted nuts, a couple of rice crackers with peanut butter or some fresh fruit.
please check out my website for more information at http://www.theteensguide2healthyliving.com/ where everyone of all ages can benefit from.
And don't forget exercise because it will improve your blood circulation, elivate depression, and help you keep trim. You don't have to waste money in the gym or buy expensive machines, just a good pair of trainers and some comfortable track suits/sport shorts is all you need for a good jogg or a run and don't forget to take a bottle of water with you to keep well hydrated.
See you next week...
